Palace condoles with Revillas over killing of Ram Revilla
Malacañang extended its sympathies to the family of former Sen. Ramon Revilla Sr. and Sen. Ramon "Bong" Revilla Jr. for the death of their kin Ram Revilla in Parañaque City on Saturday. Deputy presidential spokesperson Abigail Valte also said the Palace expects the Philippine National Police (PNP) to be on top of the case and bring the perpetrators to justice. âGusto nating makiramay sa pamilya ni former Sen. Revilla at Sen. Bong Revilla sa pagpanaw ng kanilang kaanak. We expect the PNP to be on top of the case," Valte said on government-run dzRB radio. Valte said the PNP has two campaigns to go after owners of loose firearms. The first, âBalik Boga," is for licensed firearms owners who have let their licenses to lapse. The PNP is reaching out to the gun owners to renew their licenses at the soonest possible time. The second is âKontra Boga," to recover unlicensed firearms. Initial police reports showed two bonnet-wearing men barged into the young Revillaâs home in Parañaque City shortly before midnight Friday. Ram was declared dead on arrival at the Parañaque Medical Center while his girlfriend was rushed to the Asian Hospital in Muntinlupa City for treatment of gunshot wounds in the face and shoulder. Senator Revilla, who said he is not aware of any enemies of his brother, appealed to the police to exert all efforts to get Ramâs killers. Earlier reports said the senator has offered a P500,000 reward to anybody who could provide information leading to the arrest of the killers. - VVP, GMA News
