DepEd orders schools to use PST-set clocks

The Department of Education (DepEd) has issued an order directing its officials and personnel to synchronize their clocks with the Philippine Standard Time. Education Secretary Armin Luistro was quoted on the department's Twitter page as saying the synchronization will help maximize time spent inside schools. "If we are all guided by the Philippine Standard Time, our work will be in sync & we can optimize use of time spent in school," he said. "The DepEd family is one with the nation in changing the concept of “Filipino time" to being “on time"," Luistro added. — Mark Merueñas /LBG, GMA News
