Lacierda: Impending reshuffle not on Cabinet level
A Palace official on Tuesday confirmed that President Benigno Aquino III is expected to reshuffle some of his officials but added that it will not cover Cabinet positions. Presidential spokesperson Edwin Lacierda, in an ambush interview at the Department of Justice building in Manila, refused to give details about the revamp, particularly on who would be affected by it. "Ang sabi ni President, there will be reshuffles like that... Pero nothing specific was mentioned," Lacierda said. Pressed to give names, Lacierda said: "Wala siyang sinasabi... Nobody was specified." "Let's just wait kung ano ang magiging decision. He has not mentioned any personalities," he added. "[But] nothing on the Cabinet level. There will be no movement in the Cabinet level." Lacierda was at the DOJ building to visit Justice Secretary Leila de Lima, who he said he hasn’t seen in a long while. "I just came to say 'Happy New Year'... It's just a personal visit [kasi] long time, no see na kami," he said. Lacierda claimed that apart from exchanging pleasantries, he and De Lima did not discuss "anything substantive." "Nagkuwentuhan lang kami," he said. - Mark D. Merueñas/KBK, GMA News
