Raps eyed vs Ramgen siblings over Ramgen-Janelle sex video
Charges may be filed in the next two weeks against at least two relatives of slain actor Ramgen Revilla over the uploading online of a sex video showing the slain actor and girlfriend Janelle Manahan in an intimate moment. Manahan's lawyer Luke Espiritu said they may file charges against Ramgen's brother Ramon Joseph Bautista, 18 and sister Maria Ramona, 22, for the video. "We are exploring the possibility of filing a case against the brother and sister of Ramgen. Why? Because they have the opportunity and the motive," he said in an interview on dzBB radio. Ramgen was fatally shot and stabbed inside his Parañaque City house last Oct. 28. Janelle was also shot but survived. Both Ramon Joseph or RJ and Ramona are named suspects in the incident. RJ has since been under police custody while Ramona has fled the country. Espiritu said the "opportunity" he was referring to involved the two siblings having access to Ramgen's personal effects, possibly including the video footage. On the other hand, he said the "motive" involved "harassing" Manahan and attacking her credibility. A report on dzBB quoted Espiritu as saying the case against the two siblings may be filed within two weeks. Espiritu said the charges they would file will be for violation of Republic Act 9995, the Anti-Voyeurism Act of 2010. Under the law, imprisonment of three to seven years and a fine of P100,000 to P500,000 can be imposed on violators. Section 4 of the law prohibits taking photo or video coverage of a person or group of persons performing sexual act or any similar activity or to capture an image of the private area of a person/s such as the naked or undergarment clad genitals, pubic area, buttocks or female breast without the consent of the person/s involved and under circumstances in which the person/s has/have a reasonable expectation of privacy. It also penalizes copying or reproducing, or "broadcasting" such photo or video or recording of sexual act or any similar activity with or without consideration. But the dzBB report said the mother of Ramgen, Genelyn, denied the claims by Manahan's camp. "Wala po kaming kinalaman sa lahat na nangyayari. Mismo kami nasasaktan sa nangyayari," she said. The dzBB report also said Jeffrey Gepte, a lawyer for Ramon Joseph and Ramona, questioned Espiritu's claim, saying his clients had no access to Ramgen's items. Gepte said the slain actor's cell phone are with the Parañaque City police. But a separate report by dzBB's Sam Nielsen quoted city police chief Senior Superintendent Billy Beltran as saying the video clip is not with them as they turned over all evidence to the Philippine National Police's Criminal Investigation and Detection Group. — LBG, GMA News
