DepEd: Public school teachers to study sign language in summer
Public school teachers will undergo a series of training programs on sign language in Baguio City this summer for teachers to help students with hearing impairments, the Department of Education (DepEd) said. In a news release, the DepEd said its Special Education Division and the Bureau of Elementary Education will undertake the course along with the LINK Center for the Deaf and Boeing Global Corporate Citizenship. “It is our duty as educators to provide equal opportunities to children and youth with special needs so that they can lead productive lives,” said DepEd Secretary Armin Luistro.
