DSWD warns vs 'Pantawid Pamilya' text scams

The Department of Social Welfare and Development warned the public Friday against a fresh round of text scams targeting its "Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino" program. In a news release, the DSWD said one such group claimed to be from the “President Noy-Noy Aquino Foundation," claiming the text recipient won P950,000. "The DSWD urges all those who will receive this text message to immediately report to the nearest DSWD office or text to Pantawid Pamilya’s Grievance Text Hotline 0918-912-2813," it said in a news release. According to the DSWD, one of the fraudulent text messages had been traced to phone number 0927-592-8747. It added the text message claims the P950,000 is a "second prize" in a "Handog pang-kabuhayan (livelihood)" raffle promo. — LBG, GMA News
