PNP: No ‘wanted’ posters of Honasan, yet
The spokesman of the Philippine National Police (PNP) said Wednesday police Director General Arturo Lomibao is yet to issue an order on the printing of the posters bearing the picture of Honasan and other people wanted for coup dâetat charges. Senior Superintendent Samuel Pagdilao, PNP spokesperson, said they were still waiting for some details regarding the printing of the wanted posters, GMA-7's DZBB radio reported. He assured they are ready to disseminate the posters once it is printed and ready for posting. Honasan carries a P5 million bounty for his arrest. The PNP said they will be releasing posters for people to recognize the former senator and help them capture him. The Armed Forces of the Philippines has ordered its men to track down and arrest Honasan who was tagged as one of the masterminds of the reported attempt to overthrow the Arroyo administration. A Makati City regional trial court issued the warrant of arrest on March 1 for Honasanâs alleged link to the short-lived Oakwood mutiny in July 27, 2003. Reports said the former leader, who led failed coup attempts in the 1980s, supposedly instigated the Magdalo Group into occupying the premiere Oakwood apartments in Makati City. Based on military accounts, Honasan is also among the âelders" of the Makabayang Kawal Pilipino and the Magdalo Group which were supposed to be among the armed components of the planned power grab last month. Honasan reportedly even sent a note to the Communist Party of the Philippines, through the group of retired Army colonel Marcelino Malajacan, welcoming an alliance between the soldiers and the communist rebels to topple the Arroyo administration.-GMANews.TV
