PAGASA: Isolated rain showers, thunderstorms over PHL

Isolated rain showers and thunderstorms may affect parts of the country Saturday, even as the ridge of a high-pressure area extends over Southern Luzon and Visayas, the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said. PAGASA forecaster Manny Mendoza said the entire archipelago, including Metro Manila, may expect partly cloudy to cloudy skies as well. "Ang buong kapuluan ay magiging bahagya hanggang maulap ang papawirin na may pulo-pulong pag-ulan, pagkidlat at pagkulog sa hapon o gabi," Mendoza said in an interview on dzBB radio. He said Metro Manila may expect temperatures between 24 and 34 degrees Celsius on Saturday. PAGASA's 5 a.m. bulletin also said light to moderate winds blowing from the north to northwest will prevail over Northern Luzon, southeast to southwest over the rest of Luzon and Visayas, and coming from the east to northeast over Mindanao. The coastal waters throughout the archipelago will be slight to moderate, it added. PAGASA's extended weather outlook for Metro Manila for Saturday is between 24 and 34 degrees, but the temperature may rise to 35 degrees on Sunday, and 36 on Tuesday and Wednesday. It added Tuguegarao may expect high temperatures of 36 degrees on Saturday. Also, PAGASA said the Subic-Clark area may expect 34-degree weather Saturday, but temperatures may rise to 35 degrees on Wednesday, May 9. — LBG, GMA News
