Former President Joseph Estrada left his residence in San Juan City Wednesday morning to head for his new house in Manila's Sta. Mesa district.
Estrada personally drove a jeep that headed the convoy from his North Greenhills house to the new Manila residence, radio dzBB's Glen Juego reported.
The convoy left the former president's house in San Juan City at 10 a.m., the report said.
With him were his wife, former First Lady and Senator Luisa Ejercito, and Manila Vice Mayor Francisco Domagoso a.k.a. Isko Moreno.
An earlier report said the jeep Estrada drove plied the San Juan-Manila route, and had the sign "Jeep ni Erap."
Estrada is reportedly gunning for the mayoralty post of Manila in next year's elections. Moreno is rumored to be his running mate.
Many of Estrada's supporters had gathered at the new house in Sta. Mesa to welcome him.
The supporters brought placards and streamers supporting his bid for mayor and throwing jabs at incumbent Mayor Alfredo Lim with the message "Bawal ang dirty sa Manila (Dirty is not allowed in Manila)," referring to Lim's "Dirty Harry" nickname. — RSJ, GMA News
