1,995 pass CPA exams; San Beda grad is top-notcher

A total of 1,995 out of 5,315 examinees passed the Certified Public Accountant Licensure Examination given by the Board of Accountancy, the Professional Regulation Commission announced Tuesday.

Manuel Pillora Buensuceso Jr. of San Beda College garnered a rating of 94.86 percent and topped the examination given in the cities of Manila, Baguio, Cagayan de Oro, Cebu, Davao, Iloilo, and Legazpi this May.

Kathrine Rose Co Catindig of University of Santo Tomas placed second with a rating of 94.43 percent, while Grace Menor Albunian of the Technological Institute of the Philippines-Manila (TIP-Manila) emerged third with a rating of 93 percent.

PRC said the results were released a day after the last day of the licensure examination.

It also named University of San Carlos as the top performing school with a passing percentage of 83.33 percent (60 out of their 72 graduates passed the examination).

The date and venue of the oath taking will be announced soon.

8th place: Jessica Jean Galoso Gandeza, University of the Philippines-Diliman, 91.86%
9th place: Sherald Winchel Pintacasi Ang, University of the Immaculate Conception-Davao, 91.71%
9th place: Edmond Emperio, University of San Jose-Recoletos, 91.71%
10th place: Shearilynn Lim Go, University of San Carlos, 91.57%
10th place: Raymund Acesor Tinamisan, Manuel S. Enverga University Foundation-Lucena City, 91.57%
