DSWD warns vs 'Pantawid Pamilya' text scams

The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) on Monday warned the public not to fall for text scams involving its "Pantawid Pamilya" program.   In a news release posted on its website, the DSWD said the text messages come from a certain Lea Ramos claiming that the recipient won a prize from a foundation.   The DSWD said the text scam says: “Congratulations, President Noy-Noy Aquino Foundation 4Ps Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program, your sim # won P950,000 as second prize winner in the Handog Pangkabuhayan raffle promo, DTI 0154s’12.“    The DSWD said such a text message "IS NOT TRUE," adding it does not hold any raffle promos or draws.   It urged those who receive this text message to immediately report to the nearest DSWD office or txt to the Pantawid Pamilya Grievance Text Hotline 0918-912-2813.    The Pantawid Pamilya program is the DSWD's conditional cash transfer program, where families get assistance for fulfilling health, nutrition and education conditions. - VVP, GMA News
