Manila reroutes traffic for Black Nazarene feast


The Manila District Traffic Enforcement Office (MDTEO) has announced a rerouting of traffic for Tuesday in anticipation of mammoth crowds during the annual procession of the Black Nazarene in streets near the Quiapo Church. Vehicles going to Bonifacio Drive should take A. Soriano Street. Motorists who want to use the northbound lane of Roxas Boulevard should use T.M. Kalaw Street. Vehicles headed to P. Burgos Street should take the 25th Street, turn left to Bonifacio Drive, and then right to A. Soriano Street. Vehicles that pass through España should turn left to Nicanor Reyes Street (also known as Morayta), turn left to C.M. Recto Avenue, right to Legarda Street, and then to P. Casal Street. Motorists coming from Dimasalang/Blumentritt Street should go straight to C.M. Recto Avenue and then turn right to Oroquieta Street. All vehicles coming from the southern part of McArthur Bridge should take the Jones flyover, turn right to the Philippine Post Corporation, turn back to Plaza Lacson to turn left to F. Torres Street and then right to C. M. Recto Avenue. Those headed for Divisoria via the Quiapo route should, upon reaching the Isetann service road, go directly to the Recto U-turn and then to Nicanor Reyes Street. Nepomuceno and Bilibid Viejo will be closed to traffic. All public utility vehicles (PUVs) coming from Loyola and going to Quiapo should turn left to CM Recto Avenue and then left to Legarda. All vehicles from Legarda that want to pass P. Casal/Palanca Street should go straight to Taft Avenue, right to P. Burgos using Quezon Bridge, straight to the Quezon Boulevard service road, and then turn right to CM Recto Avenue. Vehicles plying the San Juan-Quiapo route should pass through Arlegui or Hidalgo Street and use Legarda or P. Casal Street. All vehicles coming from the south of Manila could use the Estero Cegado/Ronquillo up to Evangelista, take Plaza Sta. Cruz and turn left F. Torres Street to reach their destination. -GMANews.TV
