NDRRMC: 'Ferdie' renders roads in 5 areas in Luzon 'impassable'


Roads in at least five areas in Luzon were rendered impassable in the wake of Tropical Depression Ferdie, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council said Sunday. In its 6 a.m. update, the NDRRMC said these included two in Rizal, and one each in Metro Manila. Ilocos Sur, and Occidental Mindoro. As of 7 p.m. Saturday, the NDRRMC said these impassable roads included:

- La Paz, Makati City, including Pasong Tirad, Mola and Cerveza Streets - Junction of Banayoyo-Lidlida-San Emilio-Quirino Road in Ilocos Sur - V.V. Soliven Avenue in Mayamot village in Antipolo City - Town proper in San Isidro village in Taytay, Rizal - National road in Banahan village in Sta. Cruz, Occidental Mindoro
The NDRRMC also said the southwest monsoon enhanced by Ferdie affected at least 227 families or 1,135 people in Southern Luzon. Of these, 185 families or 925 people were evacuated from Rodriguez town in Rizal. The others were from Antipolo City and Ternate in Cavite. The death toll remained at two, while six remained missing. — LBG, GMA News
