Jennifer Bautista’s Lupang Hinirang now on video blog

After being “immortalized" as a cell-phone ring tone, neophyte singer Jennifer Bautista’s rendition of the Philippine national anthem has been posted – in video - on the Internet. Bautista’s performance at the boxing match between Manny Pacquiao and Mexican Erik Morales was one of the entries in the video blog site “YouTube" (youtube.com). It ran for two-and-a-half minutes, and was posted by a certain “lethahfaize." The YouTube website indicated it was posted some two weeks ago. The clip, which ran two minutes and 27 seconds, appeared to be taken from the television feed of the Pacquiao-Morales fight last Jan. 22. Background noises heard in the clip included laughter at Bautista’s “flat" finish in singing the Philippine national anthem. That rendition of the anthem prompted some parties to make audio clips, which were converted into cell phone ring tones. However, it was relegated to the background as Pacquiao won the bout, touching off weeks of celebration in the Philippines. In television interviews earlier this week, Bautista, the niece of Sen. Ramon “Bong" Revilla Jr., said she does not mind the ring tones, and promised to improve her craft. YouTube was founded in February 2005, and lets people the ability to easily upload, tag and share video clips across the Internet and through email. It claims to serve up over six million videos daily, and aims to be “the Internet’s premier video service." -GMANEWS.TV
