Air Philippines cancels 6 flights due to bad weather from Lawin

Bad weather conditions brought by Typhoon Lawin (Jelawat) forced the cancellation of at least six domestic flights of air carrier Air Philippines on Monday.

In posts on its social networking accounts, Air Philippines said the affected flights had destinations in Calbayog (Samar), Catarman (Samar), and Masbate.

"(These) flights are cancelled due to proximity of Typhoon Lawin," it said on its Facebook and Twitter accounts.
It said these flights included:

- RP-C 3036 2P 091 and 092 Manila to Calbayog and vice-versa
- RP-C 3032 2P 029 and 030 Manila to Catarman and vice-versa
- RP-C 021/022 Manila to Masbate and vice-versa

Air Philippines said passengers may also check their flight status through the carrier's website at http://airphilexpress.com/Flight-Status.

"Stay safe, everyone. We'll provide you with more weather/flight status updates as they come up," it said.

PAGASA earlier said Lawin had intensified further and is moving northward. PAGASA forecaster Samuel Duran said their models show Lawin may stay in the Philippine Area of Responsibility until Friday or Saturday. — ELR, GMA News
