5.1-magnitude quake rattles Mindoro Occidental
Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said Tuesday a 5.1-magnitude earthquake hit the southern part of Mindoro Occidental and sent ripples to parts of Visayas and Metro Manila. Phivolcs director Renato Solidum said that around 7:43 a.m., earthquake occurred some 45 kilometers from San Jose, Mindoro Occidental. He told GMA7's DZBB that an intensity 4 quake was recorded in Odiongan, Romblon; intensity 3 in Boracay Island; intensity 2 in Marinduque and Kalibo, Aklan; and intensity 1 in Pasay City. He assured that the recent activity will not cause a tsunami.-GMANews.TV
