LPA off east Visayas dissipates; rain still affecting Mindanao

A low-pressure area off the Eastern Visayas region dissipated before noon Sunday but rain was still noted over parts of Visayas and Mindanao. "'Yung LPA na binabantay natin ay nalusaw na...,"  PAGASA weather forecaster Aldczar Aurelio said in an interview on dzBB radio. But, he said light to moderate rain showers and thunderstorms may still fall over the Visayas and Mindanao for the rest of the day. Earlier Sunday, PAGASA warned of possible flash floods and landslides the LPA may trigger. Parts of Mindanao had been affected by flash floods in recent weeks due to heavy rain. — LBG, GMA News
