Noli urges information drive on Cha-cha

Vice President Noli de Castro on Tuesday urged proponents of the signature campaign for the amendment of the 1987 Constitution to inform the public of the provisions that need to be revised. “For the people’s initiative to be meaningful and responsive to the needs of the times, an information campaign on the proposed amendments should first be undertaken," De Castro said. He said there is a need to discuss the issues surrounding Charter change (Cha-cha) at the grass root level, especially the proposed shift to a parliamentary from of government and accompanying transitory provisions. “Huwag po nating kalimutan na ipaliwanag muna sa taongbayan ang detalye ng pag-amyenda sa Saligang Batas at kung paano ito makatutulong upang makamit ang inaasahang magandang kinabukasan para sa ating bansa," De Castro said. –GMANews.TV
