Kiram daughter: Malaysian govt lied to people of Sabah
After a four-day absence, the daughter of Sulu Sultan Jamalul Kiram III returned to Twitter Sunday, saying Malaysia's government lied to its people about the ongoing row in Sabah. In her post at 4:50 a.m., Princess Jacel Kiram said she could not blame many Malaysian Twitter users for bashing her since she set up her Twitter account last Wednesday. "Cant blame the (Malaysian) bashers... their (government) lied to them. :(," she said. But the initial replies to her tweet were from Malaysian Twitter users who continued to criticize her. Princess Jacel set up her Twitter account last Wednesday, but was immediately ganged up on by pro-Malaysian tweeps. Early in February, Jacel's brother Raja Muda Agbimuddin Kiram led a group of armed followers of the Sulu Sultan went to Sabah to assert their claim of the land and engaged Malaysian forces in a standoff there. The standoff lasted almost three weeks until a deadly shootout on March 1 prompted Malaysia to conduct offensives in Lahad Datu starting March 5. Malaysia has since rejected the sultan's offer of a unilateral ceasefire and demanded that Kiram's followers surrender unconditionally. — LBG, GMA News
