Crying Cardinal Tagle moves Ateneo graduation audience to tears


Manila Archbishop Luis Antonio Cardinal Tagle was overcome with emotion and broke into tears Friday at the commencement exercises of the Ateneo de Manila University, said some Twitter netizens who were also moved by the cleric's heartfelt speech.
 
The extemporaneous commencement address of Tagle left @eldridgemyles "more inspired than ever" while for @biancabaluyut the cardinal's sharing about how lost souls can "just wait to be found [by God]" struck her.
 
"He spoke from the heart. The spirit is strong with the man," said Miguel Lizada (@mlizada).
 
Being moved to tears is not new for Tagle. The crying cardinal was caught on cam wiping away his tears after meeting then Pope Benedict XVI during a Vatican ceremony formalizing his being elevated to cardinal. Tagle was among the 115 cardinals who gathered at the Vatican to elect the successor of Pope Benedict. Cardinal Jorge Bergoglio of Argentina emerged from the conclave as Pope Francis.  — ELR, GMA News
