MTRCB reminds buses vs showing videos with sex, violence
Buses plying routes to the provinces for Holy Week were warned anew over the weekend against showing videos with excessive sexual and violent content.
The Movie and Television Review and Classification Board said only videos with a "G" (General patronage) rating will be allowed on the buses, radio dzBB reported Saturday.
MTRCB head Eugenio Villareal said teams will head for bus terminals to check if the videos aboard buses are violating their guidelines.
Villareal was quoted in the report as saying the MTRCB and Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board had agreed in 2011 that only videos with "G" rating will be allowed.
He said MTRCB teams will also post on bus terminals "public advisory" tarpaulins reminding the public about what videos can be shown.
Starting Saturday, some 504 buses granted special permits were allowed to ply popular routes during the Holy Week exodus.
Filipinos are expected to flock to the provinces in the next few days so they can spend Holy Week with their families. — ELR, GMA News
