641 out of 915 pass medical technologist exam


The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) has released the names of the examinees who have passed the licensure examination for medical technologists given by the Board of Medical Technologi in Manila, Baguio City and Cebu City earlier this month. Out of 915 who took the test, 641 passed. According to the PRC, those who failed to pass the medical technology board examination but obtained a general rating of at least 70 percent can register as medical laboratory technicians. The top performing school, fielding 50 or more examinees with at least 80 percent passing percentage, is Far Eastern University-Manila, with a 91.3-percent passing rate (63 of 69 examinees). However, four of the top 10 places were taken by examinees from the Adventist University of the Philippines, including the topnotcher, Gladys April Bathan Catibog (90.7 percent). Her AUP colleague Becky Dawn Lopez Chavez took second place (90.50 percent), followed by Maria Kristina Agresor Ibarra of Saint Louis University (90.20 percent). Moreover, AUP has a 100-percent passing rate, with all 16 of its examinees passing the exam.
