Batangas State U with highest passing rate in mech engineering board exam
With a 91.94 percent passing rate of its students who took the test, a component campus of the Batangas State University (BSU) topped – the March 2013 Mechanical Engineering Licensure Examination, the Professional Regulation Commission said Tuesday.
The former Pablo Borbon Memorial Institute of Technology (PBMIT) campus of BSU had 57 passers out of the 62 who took the exam. See full list of passers.
The state university edged out the Manila campuses of De La Salle University (DLSU) and Technological University of the Philippines which had passing rates of 86.21 percent and 80 percent, respectively.
Alumni of the University of Cebu among the examinees earned for their alma mater a passing rate of 61.90 percent ( 26 passer out of 42) while the Cebu Institute of Technology had a 48.21 percent passing rate as 27 of 56 examinees hurdled the licensure exam.
Joseph Paris Talampas of DLSU Manila led the 10 on the top-notch list. Five DLSU Manila almuni were on the roster.
The University of Cebu had two on the top list. Jeffrey Jayma Barce (2nd place) and Leo Cocoy Magcamit Nahid (6th place)
Paul Carlo Lopez Adame of BSU-PBMIT ranked 9th.
The University of the Philippines - Diliman had only 14 examinees and 11 passed, resulting to a passing rate of 78.57 percent. Of the total 1,309 who took the examination, 717 passed, the PRC said. — ELR/LBG, GMA NewsMore Videos
