Pacquiao fails to show up in court again
The much-awaited confrontation of Joanna Bacosa and boxing hero Manny Pacquiao at the Quezon City fiscalsââ¬â¢ office Wednesday turned a disappointment after the latter failed to show up for the second time. Joanna, claiming to be Pacquiaoââ¬â¢s ex-girlfriend, went to the fiscalsââ¬â¢ office together with her counsel Victor Rodriguez to submit her reply affidavit. The 4-page sworn statement was a response to the counter affidavit of Pacquiao denying all the allegations of Bacosa that he had an intimate relationship with her, and that he has a son with her. Joanna reiterated her earlier allegations were true and that Pacquiaoââ¬â¢s counter-affidavit only contained general denial and his arguments were inconsistent. She also reiterated her challenge to Pacquiao for them to undergo a DNA test. Rodriguez said, besides the affidavit, they submitted photos showing Pacquiao with her client and a young boy to boost their case against ââ¬ÅPacman." Joanna filed criminal and civil cases against Pacquiao for alleged violation of Republic Act No. 9262, which protects women from violence, and grants women a right to seek child support. She said, Pacquiao should face her first before his fight against Mexican fighter Oscar Larios in Las Vegas. The next preliminary investigation was set on April 5 wherein Pacquiao is expected to submit a rejoinder. Meanwhile, Joannaââ¬â¢s mother who is based in United States is planning to give Pacquiao a visit once the boxer starts training at the Wild Card gym. Atty. Rodrigues said Joannaââ¬â¢s mother was so upset about how Pacquiao is treating her daughter and grandson. ââ¬âGMANews.TV
