Record 37°C weather forecast for Tuguegarao on Thursday

The 35.2-degree Celsius temperature recorded in Metro Manila on Wednesday —the hottest so far for the region this year— may not be as hot as the forecast temperature for Tuguegarao City in Cagayan on Thursday: 37 degrees Celsius.

PAGASA's extended weather outlook Wednesday afternoon said Tuguegarao City may have a temperature range of 24 to 37 degrees Celsius on Thursday.

A temperature of 37 degrees Celsius would be the equivalent of that of the human body;

It also forecast a temperature range of 24 to 35 degrees Celsius for Metro Manila on Thursday (http://www.pagasa.dost.gov.ph/wb/fcst/pf.pdf).

On the other hand, Subic (Olongapo) and Clark Zone (Angeles City) may have temperatures of 24 to 36 degrees Celsius on Thursday, PAGASA said.

Earlier Wednesday, PAGASA recorded the highest temperature so far this year in Metro Manila at 3 p.m., at 35.2 degrees Celsius.

Isolated rain

Meanwhile, PAGASA said the easterlies, or warm winds from the east, are still affecting the eastern section of the country.

"The whole country will have partly cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms mostly in the afternoon or evening," it said in its 5 p.m. bulletin.

It also said moderate to occasionally strong winds from the east will prevail over Extreme Northern Luzon and its coastal waters will be moderate to occasionally rough.

Elsewhere, winds will be light to moderate coming from the east to northeast with slight to moderate seas, it added. — TJD, GMA News
