Taxi explosion triggers Malate fire; 1 dead, 2 hurt
At least one person was killed while two were injured after a taxicab exploded and started a fire at a three-storey building in Manila City early Monday morning. Radio station dzBB reported that the taxi was draining its liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) tank when it exploded and set fire to at least three other taxicabs and a nearby three-story building. Fire marshal Supt. Pablito Cordeta initially identified the fatality as Manny. The injured were identified as operator Arlene de Guzman and driver Alberto Panilag. Initial investigation showed the incident took place along Arellano Street, Malate, Manila. The fire reached the fifth alarm before firefighters put it out at 8:30 a.m. - GMANews.TV
