NCR temp hits 36.1°C

At 36.1 degrees Celsius, Tuesday afternoon marked the hottest day so far this year in Metro Manila, according to state weather forecasters.

PAGASA said the 36.1-degree Celsius temperature was recorded at 3 p.m. at the Science Garden in Quezon City, radio dzBB's Rowena Salvacion reported.

The previous high temperature in Metro Manila was 35.4 degrees Celsius recorded last April 5.

At 1:50 p.m. Tuesday, temperatures in Metro Manila already reached 35.5 degrees Celsius, a shade above the April 5 level.

On the other hand, Cabanatuan City in Nueva Ecija experienced even hotter weather Tuesday afternoon, with temperatures there going up to 36.8 degrees Celsius at 2 p.m.

But PAGASA said Filipinos should still not experience much relief, as temperatures may continue to go up until the second week of May. — TJD, GMA News
