Hot weather continues in NCR; rain over southern parts of Luzon, Visayas, Mindanao
Light to moderate rain showers and thunderstorms may fall over parts of southern Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao in the next 24 hours due to the warm winds from the east, state weather forecasters said Saturday afternoon.
But PAGASA, in its 5 p.m. bulletin, also said Metro Manila and other parts of the country may still expect hot weather due to the ridge of a high-pressure area.
It said the easterlies are affecting southern Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao, while the ridge of a high-pressure area is extending across northern and southern Luzon.
"MIMAROPA region, Visayas and Mindanao will have cloudy skies with light to moderate rain showers and thunderstorms. Metro Manila and the rest of the country will be partly cloudy with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms," it said.
PAGASA said Metro Manila experienced a high temperature of 35.7 degrees Celsius, slightly lower than the 36.6 degrees Celsius it experienced Friday.
Also, it said light to moderate winds blowing from the east to southeast will prevail over Luzon and Visayas and coming from the east and southeast over Mindanao.
The coastal waters throughout the archipelago will be slight to moderate. — LBG, GMA News
