Rain expected Friday over NLuzon, Palawan, parts of Mindanao

Rain from a tail-end of a cold front and the inter-tropical convergence zone may bring rain to parts of Northern Luzon and Mindanao in the next 24 hours, state weather forecasters said Thursday afternoon.

PAGASA, in its 5 p.m. bulletin, said the tail-end of a cold front is affecting Extreme Northern Luzon while the inter-tropical convergence zone is affecting Southern Mindanao.

"Cagayan Valley, Northern Mindanao, Zamboanga Peninsula, Autonomous Region of Muslim Mindanao (ARMM), SOCCSKSARGEN and Southern Palawan will experience cloudy skies with light to moderate rain showers and thunderstorms," it said.

On the other hand, Metro Manila and the rest of the country will be partly cloudy with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms mostly in the afternoon or evening.

Meanwhile, PAGASA said moderate to strong winds from the northeast to east will prevail over Extreme Northern Luzon and its coastal waters will be moderate to rough.

Light to moderate winds coming from the east to southeast will prevail over Visayas and over the rest of Luzon and from the northeast over Mindanao with slight to moderate seas. — TJD, GMA News
