Dos and Don'ts during Election Day
With less than 48 hours to go before the start of the May polls on Monday, the big question is: Are you ready to vote?
For those who admittedly aren't, don't worry. The GMA News, as part of its "Dapat Tama" election advocacy campaign, has a list of tips for you on what and what not to do on Election Day.
Love Añover's report on "24 Oras" on Friday has the following dos and don'ts:
The Dos
1) Prior to casting your ballot, write a list containing the names of the candidates you will vote for. Make sure you have made your choices carefully and wisely.
2) Be prepared for beating the heat on Election Day by bringing an umbrella, a handkerchief or face towel, a fan, and a bottle of water.
3) Look for your precinct on the list and upon getting there, approach the Board of Election of Inspectors. They will ask for an ID before you are asked to sign on the list of voters, so don't forget to bring one.
The Don'ts
(Maling-mali na gawin on Election Day)
1) Overvoting, or shading more than the required number of candidates in a given position
2) Looking at the ballots of others
3) Putting unnecessary marks on the ballot other than the circles that are supposed to be shaded
4) Making the ballot a hand fan
5) Making the ballot wet
After voting, insert the ballot in the PCOS machine, return the folder and marking pen to the BEI and get your finger dabbed with indelible ink. Don't loiter around your precinct after voting.
"Touch move tayo dito, so kailangan mag-ingat tayo. Pag-isipan natin yung boto natin...," said Comelec spokesman James Jimenez.
