PPCRV: Unofficial count to continue with non-stop posting of results from PCOS machines

The Parish Pastoral Council for Responsible Voting (PPCRV) said  late Monday evening said that it will continue non-stop posting the results of its partial unofficial tally from electronically transmitted election returns in the May 2013 elections.

 

"We will continue relaying data non-stop," said PPCRV National Media Director Ana de Villa-Singson at the PPCRV's command center at the Pope Pius XII Center in Manila City.

 

"We will update continuously, walang break," she also said.

 

Earlier, the PPCRV temporarily suspended its partial and unofficial count after it noticed discrepancies in results it released and made public at around 8 p.m. Monday, an hour after precincts had closed for the country's second national automated elections.

 

However, after stopping a little before 9 in the evening, the PPCRV resumed with its posting of unofficial results half an hour later after it resolved the problem.

 

The PPCRV found out that the data it was transmitting was correct, but was not properly formatted when transmitted to the PPCRV's computers, resulting in double counting.

 

In a phone interview with GMA News Online, PPCRV chair Henrietta de Villa said the citizen's arm does not expect any more episodes such as the one that happened earlier.

 

"Wala na, tuloy-tuloy na (ang transmission)," she said.

 

The PPCRV was set to temporarily stop transmitting  data at around 5 a.m. on Tuesday and to resume three hours later, but de Villa-Singson said that the citizen's arm will push through with continuous transmission, instead.

 

Latest data from the PPCRV's partial and unoffial tally based on 47.5 percent of election returns show that Grace Poe is currently in the lead, the surprise leader in the senatorial race so far.

 

Poe, running under the administration's Team PNoy slate, is followed by fellow admin bets Loren Legarda, Francis Escudero, and Alan Peter Cayetano.  — ELR, GMA News
