Lacson: Loren too pretty for Edong

She’s too pretty for Angara. On this note, Sen. Panfilo Lacson denied Sunday claims of Sen. Edgardo Angara that he was behind text messages insinuating an affair between Angara and former Sen. Loren Legarda. “I won’t do it even if I had spare time. Loren is too pretty for him. Why give him that compliment? Besides, I have nothing to gain from it," Lacson said in an interview with reporters before meeting with former President Joseph Estrada in San Juan. He said funds are “hard to come by these days" so he cannot waste resources to mount a negative campaign against Angara, with whom he crossed paths in 2003. Angara accepted early February the offer to run under the administration’s Team Unity. The announcement came on the same day that Legarda, one of Angara's close political allies, confirmed to GMANews.TV that she will join the opposition senatorial ticket for the May 14 elections. Angara was crucial in pushing for Legarda as the vice presidential candidate of the late Fernando Poe Jr in the 2004 presidential elections. Legarda earlier admitted that she and Sen. Franklin Drilon lobbied for the inclusion of Angara in the opposition’s senatorial ticket through approaching Estrada. But despite this, Angara was left out of the opposition list.-GMANews.TV
