Grads of PLM, UST, FEU dominate passers of PT licensure examination

The Professional Regulation Commission said Tuesday that physical therapy graduates of the Pamantasang ng Lungsod ng Maynila, University of Santo Tomas and Far Eastern University comprised the largest groups of passers of the Physical Therapy Licensure examination given this August.

PLM had the most examinees at 63 and 60 of them passed—for a success rate of 95.24 percent, the PRC news release showed.

Compared to other health profession courses such as nursing and medicine, which have examinees numbering in the thousands, PT is not as popular. The PRC said 679 PT graduates from 68 different schools took the licensure examination. Among the examinees are repeaters.

UST had 47 of its alumni take the PT exam, had 45 passers and a passing percentage of 95.74 percent.

Another college known for its health profession courses, FEU, saw 35 of its graduates take the exam. It had 26 passers and consequently, a passing rate of 74.29 percent.

Five alumni of UST were in the top ten. PLM had three top-notchers.

FEU, the San Juan de Dios Educational Foundation and Velez College each had one in the list of examinees with the highest scores.

The University of the Philippines fielded 33 examinees—all first time takers—and 30 of them passed, resulting in a passing rate of 90.91 percent.
