Police: Eight hurt as jeep falls off bridge in Cavite

Eight people were reported injured after a passenger jeep fell into a ravine from a bridge in Cavite province early Wednesday, police said.

 

In a radio interview, Carmona town police head Chief Inspector Armando Dimabuyu said the accident occurred at 6:45 a.m. in Barangay Bancal in Carmona town.

 

"Yung driver nasa PGH pero ang ibang pasahero nasa pagamutan ng bayan, wala naman namatay, nagkaroon ng pasa-pasa," Dimabuyu said in an interview on dzBB radio.

 

He cited initial information indicating the jeep had seven passengers at the time of the accident.

 

An initial investigation showed the jeep was heading for General Mariano Alvarez town in Cavite at the time.

 

Dimabuyu said they are verifying information that the jeep may have been overtaking another vehicle when it went out of control and fell off the bridge and into the ravine.

 

He said the jeep sustained heavy damage after the fall. — RSJ, GMA News
