2 carjackers killed, 2 nabbed after shootout with Rizal police

Police on Saturday killed two suspected male carjackers and arrested two female accomplice after an alleged shootout at the suspects hideaway in barangay San Rafael, Rodriguez, Rizal. Rizal police investigators told GMA7’s DZBB radio that the four carjackers flagged down a Toyota Corolla taxi and forcibly took it from its driver. Police were still verifying the identities of the two dead suspects. Witness Albert Acom said that at around 1:45 a.m. Saturday, the four suspects took the taxi from its unidentified driver as it plied along the Rodriguez national road. The taxi driver was able to report the incident to the authorities which immediately dispatched a team of policemen to go after the suspects. The carjackers were reportedly spotted at around 7:00 a.m. in barangay San Rafael. Police also said that the group was already scrapping the paint from the taxi when the suspects allegedly fired on them which resulted in a shootout. Two carjackers were killed in the shootout. Police recovered several handguns and ammunitions from the scene of the crime.-GMANews.TV
