De Lima: First to be charged are those who got more than P50M from Napoles
Beginning Monday next week, the Department of Justice will start filing cases against those involved in the pork barrel scam.
Appearing before a Senate hearing Thursday, Justice Secretary Leila de Lima said the first to be charged are those who received more than P50-million commission from Janet Lim-Napoles, the alleged brains in the multi-billion scam.
"Ang basehan ay yung personal knowledge, nabanggit ng whistleblowers at kung may paper trail, documents," De Lima told Senator Francis Escudero when asked if all those supposedly involved in the scam will be charged on the same day.
"I have to be very candid. Magsa-sample muna kami pero maingat kami na may basehan pero dadaan sa Ombudsman," De Lima said.
"Yung [first batch] na sasampahan, nasusunod yung threshold ng plunder, more than P50M each yung commission nila," she added. — Amita Legaspi/RSJ, GMA News
