DOJ: 36k avail of online NBI clearance application on 1st day

At least 36,000 people availed of the National Bureau of Investigation's online clearance application system on its first day Friday, the Department of Justice said Saturday.

The DOJ supervises the NBI, which on Friday opened to the public its new online clearance application system.

However, it did not give further details on the applicants, or how long their applications would be processed.

Under the online system, applicants can access and fill up a form at (http://nbi.njis-ph.com/) and submit it online.

Before the system was introduced, applicants had to line up outside the NBI main office in Manila to get a chance to apply for the clearance.

The long lines persisted on Friday, the first day the online clearance application system went into effect. — LBG, GMA News
