Residents of GA project in Rizal accuse Delfin Lee of ‘double selling’ homes

New complaints were hurled against detained property developer Delfin Lee by some residents of Saint Monique Valais subdivision in Binangonan, Rizal who have accused him of "double selling" their homes.

According to a report on "24 Oras" aired Saturday, some residents of the subdivision said they discovered properties they bought from Lee's Globe Asiatique Realty Holdings Corp. were already registered under the names of other people.

Nelia Ayson, a complainant, said she found out from the assessor's office that the lot she bought hadn't been subdivided yet.

“'Yun pala 2008 pa pala may problema na ito hindi lang pumutok. Ang nagsabi sa akin yung ahente namin,” Ayson said.

She paid the downpayment and a year's worth of monthly payments before she found out about the supposed scam, the report said.

This prompted her to accuse Lee of double selling, a complaint similar to those from the owners of homes in GA's Xevera subdivision in Mabalacat town, Pampanga.

“Hindi niya kayang bayaran ng pera yung stress na binigay niya sa mga tao sa amin dito na nagpakahirap para lang makakuha ng bahay. Lolokohin pa niya kami,” she said.

Juanito Salaveria, an Overseas Filipino Worker, said he experienced the same problem when he checked with the registrar of deeds.

Salaveria said he discovered that the property he bought was under the name of a different person.

Another complainant, Caloy Gonzales, said the property he bought would have been for his old age. “Sa akin, malapit na ako magretire so kailangan ko rin magkaroon ng sariling property talaga,” Gonzales said.

But other residents of Saint Monique Valais said they haven't experienced any problems while living in the subdivision.

Meanwhile, Willie Rivera, legal counsel for Lee, said they have yet to receive the complaints on the alleged double selling of the housing units in Rizal. — Andrei Medina/JDS, GMA News
