INFOGRAPHIC: How Revilla, Estrada, Enrile defended themselves vs. ‘pork’ scam

The “pork” did not end up in their pockets.

In earlier statements and in documents submitted before the Office of the Ombudsman, Senators Ramon Bong Revilla Jr., Jinggoy Estrada and Juan Ponce Enrile maintained that they never benefited from the alleged multibillion-peso pork barrel scam.

All three senators also argued that they merely recommended beneficiaries of their Priority Development Assistance Funds (PDAF), and had no hand in the actual implementation of pork barrel-funded projects.

Revilla even argued that heads of the implementing agencies and whistleblowers, led by Benhur Luy, were the ones who “unjustly enriched” themselves from the anomaly that was allegedly engineered by detained businesswoman Janet Lim-Napoles.

Ombudsman Conchita Carpio Morales, however, was not convinced by these arguments. Last Tuesday, her office recommended the filing of plunder charges against the three senators, some of their staff members and Napoles.

Below is an infographic showing the defenses of the three senators and their respective camps in connection with the alleged scam.
