Iglesia members arrive, spend night at centennial venue in Bulacan

Members of the Iglesia Ni Cristo started arriving at the Ciudad de Victoria in Bulacan as early as Friday night for the religious group's centennial celebration this Sunday.

Some delegations started arriving at the Ciudad de Victoria as early as Friday evening, according to a report on dzBB radio early Saturday.

A separate report on GMA News TV's "News TV Live" said many of the families came from Tarlac and Cavite, and from Pasig City.

Some families brought food and even portable chairs, the report said.

The centennial celebration is to be held at the Philippine Arena, considered the world's biggest indoor arena.

On the other hand, traffic at a portion of the North Luzon Expressway is expected to tighten starting Saturday as other members of the Iglesia Ni Cristo flock to the venue.

A separate report on Bombo Radyo said the Philippine National Police has deployed personnel near the area to ensure peace and order.  — Joel Locsin /LBG, GMA News
