Don Antonio Madrigal to be buried in family mausoleum

The convoy of the late Don Antonio Madrigal, father of Senator Jamby Madrigal, left the Sto. Domingo church in Quezon City for burial in Ayala Alabang, GMA7's DZBB radio reported Saturday. At around 2 p.m., the solemn ceremony ended as loved ones, relatives and friends of the senator’s father became emotional. The Mass started at 11 a.m. The remains of the Madrigal patriarch will be buried in the Madrigal Paterno Musuleo in Muntinlupa City, Ayala Alabang. Senator Jamby Madrigal said his late father was a man of the 20th-Century. “He (Antonio) was a gentleman and a nobleman who was very punctual and considerate at all times." Don Antonio was born on June 8, 1918 and died on April 4, 2006 due to heart failure. While most of Senator Madrigal’s colleagues at the Senate attended the church rites, Senator Juan Ponce Enrile did not show up. Enrile had criticized the Madrigal family, particularly Don Antonio, for conspiring with former president Ferdinand Marcos in accumulating wealth through anomalous transactions.-GMANews.TV
