LTFRB to meet with prospective bus GPS providers Sept 8

The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board will meet next week with prospective providers of Global Positioning System (GPS) units for public utility buses.

LTFRB executive director Roberto Cabrera issued the invitation Sept. 2 to the providers for the "consultative meeting" to be held at the LTFRB office in Quezon City.

Cabrera said they will take up the requirement for GPS units in all buses for accreditation, and implementing guidelines for the accreditation of GPS suppliers and providers.

LTFRB chairman Winston Ginez added the meeting will be held at 2 p.m.

Ginez pointed out the GPS will be for tracking the buses' speed.
