11-hr brownout in Northern Samar on Saturday – NGCP

Parts of Northern Samar may have to brace for an 11-hour power interruption this Saturday, the National Grid Corp. of the Philippines said.

 

In an advisory, the NGCP said the power interruption will affect the Northern Samar Electric Cooperative franchise from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m.

 

The NGCP said this will facilitate maintenance work along the 69-kV Calbayog-Palanas Cara-Catarman-Bobolosan-Allen line and annual maintenance on the 50-MVA Transformer in Calbayog Substation.

 

The NGCP ALSO said there may be a power interruption in parts of Samar on Saturday, affecting the Samar Electric Cooperative 2 franchise (Paranas and Catbalogan Substations).

 

The Samar outage may take 20 minutes and is scheduled between 4 and 5 p.m.   — Joel Locsin/ELR, GMA News
