Two of three suspected bomb plotters transferred to Camp Karingal

The Philippine National Police has transferred two of three suspected bomb plotters to the headquarters of the Quezon City Police District from Masambong police station in the same city.

According to a report on "State of the Nation with Jessica Soho" aired late Friday evening, Ricardo Ayeras and Andrescio Valdez — alias Sabri Sindayen — were brought to Camp Karingal to keep them under close guard.

Police have yet to categorically say that they are suspected terrorists but Ayeras, Valdez, and a third man, Ricky Macapagal — alias Abdurahim — were caught with a hand grenade, ammunition, government IDs,and a notebook with instructions on how to make improvised bombs, the report said.

Macapagal has posted bail.

Asked whether he and his companions are terrorists, Ayeras replied: "Yun ang sabi nila. Yun ang sabi nila."

They were also shown in the report shouting "Allahu Akbar! (God is Great)", a common Islamic Arabic expression that is used in many different situations.

The suspects are believed to be connected to the Rajah Solaiman Movement, which has been tied to bomb attacks on the Awang airport in Datu Odin Sinsuat in Maguindanao in 2003, on an inter-island ferry in 2004, a bus in Makati City in 2005.

They face charges for the illegal possession of explosives, falsification of public and private documents, concealing their true names, and for riding motorcycles without helmets or licenses.
