Olongapo bar’s CCTV shows transgender going out with alleged killer

A closed-circuit television camera was a mute witness to the last time Jeffrey "Jennifer" Laude, the transgender woman found dead in Olongapo City over the weekend, was last seen alive.

The CCTV at the bar in Olongapo City where the victims was working showed Laude and her friends going out with four Americans, GMA News' Rida Reyes reported on "24 Oras" on Wednesday.

Staff members of the bar identified one of the Americans as suspected killer Pfc. Joseph Scott Pemberton, who has been charged with murder for Laude's killing.

The report said the CCTV footage and testomonies by bar employees showed the Americans were drunk while going up the stairs to the bar at about 10:56 p.m. of October 11, Saturday.

After a few minutes, Pemberton was caught on camera going down the stairs, holding hands with Barbie, a friend of Laude.

They were in a group that included Laude. It was the last time she was seen with Pemberton, the report said.

At about 11:35 p.m., the CCTV footage showed Pemberton's colleagues going up and down the bar's stairs, looking for him.

They were supposedly asking the bar's employees where Pemberton was, because they had to get back to their vessel due to a midnight curfew. — Joel Locsin/VC, GMA News
