PRC: 4,123 of 11,137 examinees pass CPA board exam


The University of the Philippines - Diliman earned a 100 percent passing rate while 37 percent or 4,123 of 11,137 aspiring certified public accountants hurdled the licensure examination the Board of Accountancy recently gave earlier this month, the Professional Regulation Commission said early Thursday morning.

Mark Anthony Blanco Tacuboy, an alumnus of the University of Saint Louis - Tuguegarao, led the roster of 16 who earned the highest scores in the board exam, the PRC also said. Tacuboy had a 91.14 percent rating.
 
A schoolmate of Tacuboy, McLein Gumaro Bagunu, had the fourth-highest rating of 89.86 percent.
 
Among the schools with 50 or more examinees, the University of Saint Louis - Tuguegarao had the second highest passing passing rate of 86.76 percent.
 
The top 16 was a mix of examinees from various schools, including four from the University of the Philippines - Diliman.
 
Also among the top 16 were two alumni of the Cavite State University (Don Severino Agricultural College campus), Janine Anuat Climacosa and John Rey Caluya de los Santos. — ELR, GMA News
