5 hurt in road mishap in Montalban


At least five people, including two young children, were injured after a dump truck that went out of control hit a tricycle in Montalban, Rizal before dawn Wednesday. Radio dzBB reported that the truck was on its way to the Montalban dumpsite from Payatas in Quezon City when its brakes failed and its driver lost control. The accident occurred at Harangan village in Montalban, but it was not immediately clear what time the accident took place. Now confined at the Eulogio Amang Rodriguez Medical Center in Marikina City is Angelo Montero, who suffered a broken arm. Also injured was Rizza May Pelenio, 5, who suffered a slight head wound when the truck hit her tricycle. However, she was later allowed to go home. Injured as well were the truck driver and two helpers, initially identified a Jury Panayado, Allan Escano and Romeo Santos. Santos claimed their truck's brakes failed for no apparent reason. - GMANews.TV
