Some Borongan residents eye hospitals as evacuation sites
Some residents in Eastern Samar are planning to stay in rooms in hospitals just to get to safer ground from approaching Typhoon Ruby (Hagupit).
A report by radio dzBB's Carlo Mateo said residents in Borongan City planned to have themselves admitted to the hospitals.

Many hotels in Borongan City have already been fully booked as residents sought stable shelter from the coming typhoon.

Earlier, state weather agency PAGASA said Ruby was likely to make landfall on Eastern Visayas as early as Saturday.
As of 10 a.m. Friday, PAGASA estimated Ruby at 435 km east of Borongan, with maximum winds of 215 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 250 kph.
It is expected to be 120 km east-northeast of Borongan, Eastern Samar Saturday morning. —Joel Locsin/NB, GMA News
