‘Ninong’ Noy plays Santa Claus to street kids

President Benigno Aquino III on Friday played Santa Claus to around 1,000 street children from Metro Manila, hearing their Christmas wishes and giving them Noche Buena packs.

The kids’ wishes were not simple, however. One of them asked the President to help him find his parents.

“Gusto ko na pong makita ‘yung magulang ko kasi po hinahanap na kasi ako nila… Gusto ko rin pong maalagaan ‘yung pamilya ko pagtanda po nila. Salamat po,” the boy told Aquino during an event at the Malacañang Palace grounds.

Aquino, who was introduced during the event as “Ninong Noy,” said in reply, “Pagtulungan natin, subukan nating hanapin ‘yung mga magulang mo.”

Another child asked the President to help free her father from prison.

“Sana po mabayaran na ng papa ko lahat ng utang namin, at sana po makalaya na po ang papa ko,” the girl told Aquino.

Aquino promised the girl that the government will review the case involving her father.

During the event, Aquino also hugged a little girl from Pasig City, who offered the hug as her Christmas gift to him.

Aquino also led the distribution of food packs and school supplies to those who attended the event. —KBK, GMA News
