Lawmakers want probe on CebuPac's flight schedule mess during holiday season

Lawmakers seek for an investigation on Cebu Pacific airlines over problems in flight bookings during the holiday season.

Eastern Samar Representative Ben Evardone vowed to initiate an investigation on Monday, a report on "Balitanghali" said.

Also, the report quoted to Western Samar Representative Mel Sarmiento as saying Cebu Pacific's franchise to operate may be revoked if found guilty of mismanagement.

At least, 700 Cebu Pacific flights were delayed and some 200 flights were canceled during the Christmas rush, the report said.

Also, it said that last December 26, long lines of passengers formed at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport's Terminal 3, as many of the airlines' ground crew did not report for work.

The situation prevented some passengers from boarding their flights on time.

The Cebu Pacific management, however, maintained there was no overbooking of flights, and that the delays were caused by the lack of  ground crew to process the flight schedules, the report said, adding the airlines is ready to face House investigation. — Jessica Bartolome/LBG, GMA News
